Article 1. Purpose and Scope
These Terms govern the relationship between Rodac Technologies LTD (the "Company") and users of the KixScan beta service provided through the mobile application and web app (the "Service").
Feature-specific conditions, including Data Mission, Data Task and Contributor Ranking rules, apply to the relevant feature when disclosed before participation. If a properly disclosed specific condition differs from these general Terms, it governs that feature, subject to mandatory law and statutory rules of interpretation. Such conditions cannot bypass required notice or consent or retrospectively remove validly accrued rights.
KixScan is a free crowdsourced data-collection and validation service. KDP and the Elite Contributor Bonus provide compensation for useful, validated real-world data contributions under the stated criteria. Participation requires no purchase, payment, wager, deposit, or stake. Monetary-value compensation is determined by qualifying data contributions, not by random selection or outcomes of cosmetic activities.
Article 2. Definitions
- "Member" means an individual aged 15 or older who creates an account and uses the Service, subject to Article 4.
- "Capture" means photographing or recording real-world sneakers or related products and submitting the resulting material.
- "Contribution" means a Capture, Data Mission or Data Task result, product identification, label, verification answer, validation vote, or other material submitted for data collection or validation.
- "Data Mission" means a data-collection or validation campaign made available by the Company or a business partner, with stated submission and acceptance criteria.
- "Data Task" means an individual data-collection or validation assignment a user may select, including a task shown by a marker on the map. A Data Task may form part of a Data Mission.
- "User Content" means Contributions, profile material, comments, posts, and other material submitted or made public through the Service.
- "KixData Points" or "KDP" means points credited as compensation for accepted, useful data Contributions and exchangeable through Points Exchange for Company-designated Coupons under the displayed conditions.
- "Contributor Rankings" means daily or weekly rankings based solely on qualifying KDP credited for accepted data Contributions during the stated ranking period.
- "Elite Contributor Bonus" means additional performance-based compensation for qualifying top-ranked contributors, issued as a Coupon under the announced Contributor Ranking rules.
- "Sparx" means non-monetary activity points used only within the Service. Sparx have no monetary value and cannot be converted into KDP, Coupons, cash, or an Elite Contributor Bonus.
- "Coupon" means a third-party mobile coupon or gift certificate issued through KDP exchange or as an Elite Contributor Bonus. Available types and conditions are displayed for the relevant offer.
- "Beacon" means an in-Service feature that provides only non-monetary effects, such as additional Sparx, for a stated time and area.
Article 3. Publication, Acceptance, and Changes
The Company will make these Terms and legally required operator information available in the Service settings or a linked screen.
A user enters into the Service agreement by expressly accepting these Terms during registration. Separate consent is obtained for personal-location processing and other processing where required by law; acceptance of these Terms is not blanket consent to all personal-information processing.
The Company may amend these Terms in accordance with law. It announces the effective date and reasons and gives reasonable advance notice of material or adverse changes, taking account of their effect on Members. Individual notice and express consent are provided where required by law. Changes do not retrospectively remove validly accrued rights.
A user who does not agree may close the account before the effective date. A change requiring separate consent by law will not apply without express consent.
Article 4. Eligibility and Accounts
The Service is available only to individuals aged 15 or older. The Company checks date of birth before account creation and blocks registration where the user is under 15. Users must provide an accurate date of birth and account information.
The minimum age is calculated from the user’s date of birth. Users who are minors under applicable law may have limited legal capacity to enter into agreements or undertake certain transactions. Where consent of a legal representative is required by applicable law, the user must obtain that consent. Nothing in these Terms limits any statutory rights of a minor or legal representative, including any applicable right to cancel a legal act entered into without required consent.
A user may use only an email address or external login account the user is authorized to control and must protect credentials. Suspected unauthorized use must be reported promptly.
One person may use only one account unless the Company allows otherwise. Accounts may not be transferred, sold, rented, or shared.
Members may use the sign-in methods offered in the Service, including Google or Sign in with Apple. The Company sends operational emails for account verification, recovery, reports, deletion and related service notices. Provider processing is described in the Privacy Policy.
The 15+ requirement is the Company’s account-eligibility rule. App-store content ratings and platform access conditions apply separately.
Article 5. Service Features
During the beta, the Company may provide all or part of the following features without a Service fee.
- Sneaker search, identification, learning, collection, and community features
- Maps, nearby content, Captures, product ownership or discovery records, Data Missions, and Data Tasks
- Data labeling, verification questions and quizzes, validation voting, cross-checking, and fraud detection
- KDP compensation, Contributor Rankings, Elite Contributor Bonuses and Coupons; separate non-monetary Sparx, badges, Beacons and community cosmetics
- AI-based product recognition, descriptions, pricing or shopping links, and related information
- Customer support, in-Service notices, and other beta-testing features provided by the Company
If the Company later introduces paid functionality, price, payment, cancellation, and refund terms will be shown before purchase. These beta Terms alone create no payment obligation.
KixChat is an optional text-only generative-AI feature. Questions and context needed to answer them are processed by external AI providers as described in the Privacy Policy. Image and video uploads are not supported. Questions and answers are stored so Members can review their own past conversations in the KixChat History tab, and for the stated safety and monitoring purposes. Retention and deletion follow the Privacy Policy.
The app identifies generative-AI answers and applicable AI-generated reference or collection content. Users may report harmful or unsafe answers. Within Rodac, access to retained chat records is limited to designated employees whose duties require it for safety monitoring, harmful-answer reports, misuse prevention or related investigations. Do not enter passwords, verification codes, sensitive information or unnecessary personal information.
Article 6. Device Permissions, Location, and Safety
Camera, media, and location permissions are requested only for features that need them. Users may refuse or withdraw these permissions in device or browser settings and continue using the rest of the app. Without location permission, features requiring the user’s location, such as map Data Missions and Data Tasks, nearby location-based events, location validation, and Beacons, are unavailable. Without camera permission, users cannot use the scanner or earn KDP by submitting camera Captures. Denying a permission does not itself block account access or unrelated features. Users may still earn KDP through accepted labeling, verification or quiz contributions that do not require those permissions, subject to the applicable task conditions.
Location processing is governed by separate Location-Based Service Terms and the Privacy Policy. The beta processes current location only while the app or map screen is in use and processes event location for specific functions such as Captures, Data Missions and Data Tasks, and Beacons. It does not use background location tracking.
Users must comply with traffic laws, premises rules, photography restrictions, private-property rights, and the rights of others. Using the Service while driving, trespassing, taking dangerous actions, or pressuring another person to be photographed is prohibited.
Article 7. Submission and Verification of Contributions
KDP are credited only for Contributions accepted under the stated quality and usefulness criteria, such as a valid real-product Capture, a qualifying Data Mission or Data Task submission, a labeling result, or an accepted verification answer or validation vote. Taking part, opening the app, or completing a cosmetic activity alone does not create entitlement to KDP.
The Company may use automated tools and, where appropriate, human review to evaluate accuracy, duplication, required angles, location and time consistency, manipulation, safety, and data usefulness.
The following may be rejected, reduced, or reversed.
- Images of screens, printouts, other photographs, or non-real products
- Duplicate, reused, low-quality, mislabeled, manipulated, location-spoofed, or noncompliant material
- Material submitted through another person's account or unauthorized automation
- Material that violates law, premises rules, these Terms, or third-party rights
- KDP credited twice or credited due to a clear technical error
A user may request review through customer support within 14 days after notice. The Company will reasonably reassess relevant records and communicate the result. This internal request period does not limit statutory rights or remedies.
Article 8. KixData Points
KDP record compensation for accepted data Contributions, subject to the applicable acceptance and exchange conditions. They are not cash, deposits, electronic money, or securities. Users may not buy, sell, transfer, inherit, lend, stake, or pledge KDP.
The Company’s server ledger records accrual and deductions, subject to correction. Following reasonable verification and notice, the Company may correct credits arising from fraud, objectively ineligible Contributions, duplicate credit or an obvious system error. A subsequent policy change alone does not cancel compensation validly earned under the applicable conditions. The review route in Article 7 remains available.
Any KDP validity or expiry conditions are displayed in the applicable contribution-program rules before the KDP are earned. Conditions already applicable to validly earned KDP are honored, subject to mandatory law; subsequent conditions apply prospectively.
The types of coupons available for KDP exchange, required KDP, exchange limits, quantities, and availability are displayed in the Service at the time of exchange. A completed exchange is generally final, except for Company error or where law requires otherwise. Changes to future offers do not remove valid rights already accrued under an accepted offer.
Article 9. Sparx, Beacons, and Non-Monetary Features
Sparx have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for cash, Coupons, KDP or an Elite Contributor Bonus, and may not be sold or transferred. Conditions for receiving and using Sparx may be displayed in the Service.
A Beacon’s duration, radius, owner’s additional Sparx and nearby users’ additional Sparx will be shown before activation. Beacons affect only Sparx and other non-monetary items. They do not increase KDP, Contributor Ranking position, Coupon value, or an Elite Contributor Bonus.
Boxes that use random selection may provide only non-monetary items such as Sparx, badges, Beacons or community cosmetics. They contain no cash, KDP or Coupons, cannot be purchased with real money, and do not affect monetary-value compensation.
The quantities and functions of Sparx, Beacons and non-monetary items may change during beta adjustments. They are not purchased property and are not redeemable for cash; the Company will try to provide reasonable notice.
Article 10. Contributor Rankings, Elite Contributor Bonus, and Coupons
Daily and Weekly Contributor Rankings use only qualifying KDP credited for accepted data Contributions in the stated period. Eligible top-ranked contributors receive an Elite Contributor Bonus as additional performance-based compensation in Coupons. The ranking period, eligible positions and recipient count, objective tie-breaking method, qualification criteria, Coupon types and amounts are disclosed before the period begins. Interim rankings remain subject to validation and correction; announced conditions for an existing period are honored.
Sparx, random selection, Beacons and cosmetic activities do not determine Contributor Rankings or the Elite Contributor Bonus. No purchase, payment, wager, deposit or stake is required or permitted to participate or improve ranking eligibility.
Coupons are delivered through the delivery provider disclosed in the Privacy Policy. Available types and the issuer’s validity, redemption and account-eligibility conditions are displayed for the relevant offer, including any consent required for a minor’s use. These conditions do not exclude the Company’s obligations or mandatory user rights.
The Company may temporarily withhold a bonus or Coupon for a reasonably necessary verification of suspected fraud or eligibility errors. After reasonable verification and notice, it may correct rankings, bonuses or Coupon entitlements arising from fraud, an objectively ineligible Contribution, duplicate credit or an obvious system error. Corrections to issued Coupons must also comply with law and issuer arrangements. A later policy change alone does not cancel validly accrued rights. Review may be requested within 14 days after notice without limiting statutory remedies.
If tax or identity-verification duties legally apply to compensation or a Coupon, the Company may request the minimum information required. Taxes are borne by the recipient unless applicable law provides otherwise.
Article 11. User Content and Data License
Users retain ownership of their User Content and represent that they have authority to submit it and grant the license below.
The user grants the Company a worldwide, non-exclusive, transferable, and sublicensable license to reproduce, store, analyze, annotate, modify, translate, transmit, display, combine, create derivative outputs from, and otherwise use User Content to provide, verify, secure, operate, and promote the Service; conduct research; improve products; create datasets; train, evaluate, and improve AI/ML models; and provide data products or analytics to business customers. This license includes commercial use because such use is integral to the Service. Except for compensation expressly provided for accepted Contributions or an Elite Contributor Bonus, no separate licence fee or ongoing royalty is payable merely for this licensed use. Agreed compensation and mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected.
The content licence does not replace a lawful basis for processing personal information or personal location information. Those matters follow the Privacy Policy and Location-Based Service Terms. External datasets and analytics exclude personal information unless an applicable lawful basis and safeguards permit its inclusion. Removing account identifiers, blurring an image or generalizing location alone does not establish anonymity.
After content deletion or account closure, public display and account association cease without undue delay, subject to lawful retention. The licence may continue for genuinely anonymous data, aggregated outputs, non-personal product metadata and model outputs or parameters that do not contain personal information. Information is anonymous only if an individual cannot reasonably be identified, including by combining it with other information, considering time, cost and technology. Further use of information that remains personal requires a lawful basis and safeguards.
Automated face detection and blurring, background blurring outside the sneaker-focused area, and NSFW content filtering may make errors. Users must not intentionally capture or post faces, license plates, contact details, private conversations, minors, or sensitive locations and should review any preview or deletion controls provided.
The commercial dataset and AI/ML training licence excludes private KixChat messages and customer-support communications. Their processing, restricted access and retention follow the Privacy Policy.
Article 12. Prohibited Conduct
- Violating law, these Terms, Data Mission or Data Task rules, or third-party rights
- Using a false date of birth, multiple accounts, shared accounts, proxies, or unauthorized trading of KDP or compensation entitlements
- GPS spoofing, emulators, bots, macros, unofficial clients, reverse engineering, exploit abuse, or Service interference
- Manipulating scores, KDP, Sparx, votes, reports, rankings, or recommendations
- Posting illegal, sexual, violent, hateful, harassing, defamatory, or privacy-invasive content
- Impersonating others or misusing another person's account, image, location, or personal information
- Reselling the Service or data, or automatically extracting a competing dataset, without prior permission
- Obstructing or endangering store staff, product owners, other users, or non-users
Article 13. Moderation and Restrictions
The Company may use automated or human review to hide or remove content and may limit or suspend accounts where it reasonably suspects illegality, rights infringement, safety risk, fraud, or violation of these Terms.
Content may be temporarily hidden automatically after a reporting threshold is reached. Report count alone does not determine permanent removal or sanctions; the Company will review available context and evidence where practicable.
Unless urgent safety, security, or legal reasons prevent it, the Company will state the reason and review method. A user may request reconsideration within 14 days after notice. This internal period does not limit statutory rights or remedies.
Users can report inappropriate User Content and block other users through the app. Once a user blocks an account, User Content from that account is no longer shown to the blocking user. Blocking is a personal visibility control: it does not by itself delete the content for everyone or determine whether the Company will impose a sanction.
Article 14. Beta Changes, Suspension, and Termination
The beta may contain errors, feature changes or interruptions. The Company may change or discontinue features and gives reasonable advance notice of material reductions or planned termination, except where an urgent restriction is justified. Statutory notice and filing requirements for suspension or closure of the location-based business remain applicable.
The Company may restrict features without advance notice for a security incident, legal or regulatory requirement, third-party outage, emergency maintenance, force majeure, or another circumstance reasonably outside its control, and will give later notice where practicable.
If planned termination would prevent KDP exchange, the Company announces a reasonable exchange or settlement period and handles validly accrued compensation under the applicable conditions and law. An urgent interruption does not extinguish outstanding legal obligations. Sparx and non-monetary items are not cash-redeemable.
Article 15. Account Closure and Termination
A Member may request account deletion in Settings by selecting “Delete my account” and confirming, or through support. This submits a request for the Company to process; it does not promise instantaneous deletion. The Company processes the request without undue delay, subject to necessary identity checks and law. Exchanging KDP is not a prerequisite to deletion. Unexchanged KDP and Sparx expire on completed closure, except where applicable law or validly accrued payment obligations require otherwise. Account closure does not cancel issued Coupons, payments already due or mandatory statutory rights.
The Company may close an account for a material or repeated violation, fraud, harm to another person, or compliance with law. Where appropriate, the Company will provide an opportunity to correct a minor violation.
Deletion and exceptional retention of personal information are governed by the Privacy Policy.
Article 16. Company IP and Third-Party Services
The Service, software, characters, designs, trademarks, compilations, data structures, and Company-created content belong to the Company or their lawful owners. Users receive only a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service under these Terms.
The Service integrates or links to third-party authentication, email, AI, maps, Coupons, shopping, and price-information services. The relevant provider’s terms and privacy notices apply to its own service, without excluding the Company’s obligations for KixScan. The Company is not the seller or contracting party to an off-Service shopping transaction.
Article 17. Information Accuracy and Liability
AI product identification, KixChat responses, descriptions, prices, inventory, authenticity indications, safety information, and shopping links are for reference and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. AI output is not professional advice. Users should check the cited source, current seller information, and other reliable information before relying on a response or making a transaction. Harmful or unsafe KixChat responses can be reported in the app.
The Company is responsible for loss attributable to its fault to the extent required by applicable law. It is not responsible for loss caused solely by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, such as a user’s device or network failure, independent third-party conduct or force majeure, where the Company has no attributable fault. The free or beta status of the Service does not by itself exclude legal responsibility.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for willful misconduct or gross negligence, death or personal injury, or violations of personal-information or location-information law.
Article 18. Notices and Support
The Company may provide notice through an in-Service announcement or registration email. A general Service announcement may be used for matters affecting many users, but matters materially affecting an individual user's rights will be individually notified where reasonably possible.
Questions, rights-infringement reports, and review requests may be submitted to info@rodac.co.kr or through in-Service support.
Article 19. Governing Law, Disputes, Language, and Operator
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. The parties will first try to resolve disputes through discussion; unresolved disputes will be brought in a court having jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act and other applicable law.
If the Korean version conflicts with a translation, the Korean version controls to the extent permitted by Korean law.
